Vagina discomfort

For a few days I've been having issues with my genital area. My vagina (not the entrance but more so towards my pelvis) is tender when pressed on; also around my clitoris burns a little, I have one small bump (the size of a spider bite, slightly raised, near clitoris, 'not' itchy), and the pubic hair area 'is' itchy. I'm not sure what's going on. I've bathed and everything. I did have unprotected sex a week or too ago but I've just now recently started feelings these symptoms. Does anyone know what this could be? Are these symptoms of a std or yeast infection or something?

It does sound like a fungal infection.
You can make an appointment to see your doctor to examine or take a swab of the problem area.

As a home remedy, after washing and drying gently (do not use any soap, shower gels or feminine sprays) you can apply natural set yogurt to your problem area.  This will help to cool down the burning sensation and also will help to reduce any inflammation.

You can buy over the counter from the pharmacy an antifungal cream specifically to treat genital fungal problems.  You can also purchase without a prescription a one dose single oral capsule called Fluconazole.

Your sexual partner may also need to get treatment.

The small bump sounds like it may be a cyst.  The doctor can check that out for you and if he feels it is caused by a bacterial infection will prescribe an antibiotic.   Be aware that antibiotics can cause Thrush (fungal infection) in the genital area as well as in the mouth.

Mouth fungal problems are treated by Daktarin gel specifically for oral use.

Do not wash with soaps as this dries the skin and can cause irritation by changing the pH level of the skin.  Only wear cotton undergarments and use non-biological detergents.  Gentle non perfumed soaps should be fine.

As a precaution, check for any pubic lice.

Best wishes.

Please see a doctor - it might not be an std, but you could have picked up some parasites from your partner.
