What is causing my chest pain?

About two years ago I started getting these brief, yet reoccurring, sharp pains in the left side of my chest. I have anxiety as it is, and chest pain was all I needed to schedule an appointment with my physician. I was 21 at the time, I'm 5'11, around 160 lbs, don't smoke, and am (for the most part) a very healthy eater. After evaluating what was bothering me, he said it was most likely GERD, gave me a handful of nexium samples, and ordered an EKG just to be safe. The EKG Results came back as completely normal, and a couple of weeks later, the pain disappeared. Now, around a week ago I started getting these sharp pains (almost as if someone is pushing a finger into my left Breast tissue) again. I will also get back discomfort, and arm pain/sensation in my hand. I also notice that the pain seems to start showing up after I sit for long periods of time at my desk, or in a vehicle. I am a mortician, and lift "dead weight" somewhat frequently at work so I am thinking/hoping this is just some sort of muscular or maybe a pinched nerve issue. I am a very young (23), healthy person, and should by no means have any heart issues, but these kinds of symptoms freak me out because i tend to be a very anxious person. Blood pressure is perfect, pulse perfect. I have a doctors appointment scheduled, but looking for some possible advice or insight. Any and all is appreciated, thanks!

If you lift weights, there is a big chance that you overused an inter rib muscle.
Note that sharp chest pains are almost always NOT heart related. Also a heart problem at your age, with your lifestyle and with your EKG from 2 years ago, is very unlikely.
