What's wrong with me?

Right, basically on boxing day i went to the accidnt and emergency because i had a bad pain on my lower right side, they tested me urine and they said it was full of infection & i've had cystitus a few times before so this wasn't anything new to me, so they gave me some anti-biotics to cure the infection. I got better eventually after my 10 day course of tablets and then i went to the doctor towards the end of my 10 day course of those to get some more just to make sure that my infection clears up. A few days ago i finished my course of the 2nd pack of those tablets, but now i'm getting stabbing pains in my right side every time i take a deep breath inwards, i found that a hot water bottle sometimes eases the pain but not always. It woke me up at 6am this morning so my dad took me to the doctors that morning, they checked my urine sample and there was no infection there, so the doctor felt around my stomach and she said it all seems to be fine. & In the end she said it was due to Pre-menstural pain because i'm currently on my period (but coming to the end of it now). She's prescribed me 200mg ibuprufen tablets but i don't think these are working very well. I've been booked a blood test on monday just for pre-caution (which i am ever so nervous about as i pass out when needles are involved) & I have an oppointment to have a swob done next friday. Is there anything that i can do to help prevent the pain more than i am now? & Do you think it's really pre-menstural pain, because i've never experienced any pre-mensutral pain like this before.

Can anyone help me please? :(
Gemma.

Thanks for adding a comment to my post;
It's pretty much cleared up.. it was infact mensural pain.. it must've been i guess because it just eventually wore off within a week time scale.
And i previously had a Ultrasound scan(in september) because the doctors said if i get cystitus more than 3 times then it'd procedure to book one to check(which came out with clear results, no symptoms atall apparently.), but when i went to a&e on the boxing day they said it's not appendicitus because of the obvious pain i was in when they tried to touch it, i wouldnt've even let them touch it because appendicitus is painfull to touch (apparently.)
I still get cystitus from time to time nowadays, especially when i've had sex with my boyfriend; which is horrible.. but i do my best to prevent it to stop getting acute kidney pains again because that was hell on earth, as im sure anyone who has had it before will agree with me! I guess there's nothing i can do more though, i mean i've searched the internet and been doctors asking for ways to prevent it & i've seen it all and tried it all but i still get hints of it now&then, my doctor said some people are just prone to it, which is incredibly un-fair i think, and i also heard (not from my doctor) that you can get something that you can take every day to prevent you getting cystitus. I'm not sure if it's true though.
Thanks again for commenting; it's appreciated. :)

Hi,

Well, it could be a menstrual pain but actually it should have no relation with the worsening after taking deep breaths. The other possibility which I can thik of is appendicitis which can mimic a pain of cystitis/menstrual pain. I think you should get an Ultrasound/CT scan abdomen done to rule a possibility of infection/inflammation of the appendix.

I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted.

Kind Regards.
