White dots in hair?

I find I’m losing more hair then usual. I thought I was some season thing but I have never experienced this before. I examined some of my hair and found there to be white dots or bumps at the end of the hair where it attaches to the scalp. Also when I give me scalp a good scratch I get white stuff under my nails. It looks like powder almost but it rubs into skin and is somewhat oily. I have tried looking it up with no luck. What is this?

You have to see a doc for a diagnosis. It could a  minor skin condition since the skin isn't itchy. It is probably unrelated to the hair loss - which many people discover doesn't last forever. You might try a daily dandruff shampoo which is generally often up of  a skin exfoliant plus tar which binds the loose skin to the shower water so it goes away each time you shower.

"which many people discover doesn't last forever" i meant many people find they are growing bald, and there isn't a schedule for that to happen.
