Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Yes, if the artery was 50% blocked, it needs to be evaluated periodically by a cardiologist. Generally a 50% block will not cause any symptoms and if treated with blood thinners and other medications to prevent atherosclerosis, then this will not progress fast too. Even if your insurance doe not cover it, it would be wise to get a duplex ultrasound (dopplar) or angiogram since it has been 2 years. The only risk is of disease progression and strokes. Take care!

I would have it checked, my father has a 70% blockage in his carotid artery, but this caused him to have two mini strokes.
He now has it scanned, because they dont do anything in the uk, until it is 75% blocked, how sad is that.
My dad was perscribed aspirin for it, to try to prevent stroke.

He has it scanned yearly.
Good luck.
