MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi Jack,
Sorry you have been having some trouble lately.  It is tough for me to know for sure what is going on without knowing more about or seeing you in person; however, I hope I can provide some help here.  If your chest pain is caused by physical exertion and goes away with rest, then this would be called "anginal symptoms" and could be coming from something like blockages in your coronary arteries.  If you are a smoker, older male, have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or a strong family history of heart problems, then you would be at higher risk for coronary artery disease than people without those risk factors.  If this is the case, then a stress test could be done to see if you have any evidence of blockages (ischemia) that would be causing your symptoms.  Chest pain can also be caused by esophagus problems, musculoskeletal issues, anxiety, inflammation of the sac around the heart or of the heart itself, etc, but it seems that your doctors may have thought about all of those things and ruled them out.  You should discuss with your doctor whether a stress test would be beneficial for you.  Hope that helps.
