Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If your friend has cervical spondylosis then he should consult a neurologist. The vertigo he is experiencing is due to compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, herniated disc, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A MRI of the cervical spine and nerve conduction studies may be required. The treatment is to remove the compression. He will have to discuss the best treatment option with a neurologist, which can range from medication to physiotherapy to traction, cervical collars or even surgery.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care
is important also for a doctor to check his ears, vertigo, dizzines and ears are closely related.
i would see the ENT since vertigo can be an ear problem and also ask the MD how often it is safe to take the meds and never exceed the recommended dosage
