choking on own saliva

Reported to me by a close friend (Male in mid 50's)
Recurring Episodes at night.
Since last Spring.
Wakes at night
Choking on own Saliva.
Cannot swallow his own Saliva.
Has been to several gastro enterologists
Has undergone all the tests.
They cannot find anything.

I just started doing that about a yr. Ago. Does he have bad sinuses? I'm 50 and I have bad sinuses and that's what I thought it might be. They drain down to your throat. Just a suggestion..

MAYBE ITS BRAIN RELATED PROBLEM. MAYBE IT WILL GOING TO FACIAL PARALYS. SO CONSULT BRAIN AND NEUROLOGY DOCTORS
