cut on leg

I cut my leg and it is taking forever to heal.  Now it is almost healed but the skin around area is large and red kind of glossy smooth and itchy.  Could it be Cellulitis and who do I go see, my regular doctor or a dermatologist.

I would see your GP first, ask for an A1c test, this will show what your blood has been doing for the last three months, normally ,  cuts that don't heal well are due to a blood sugar disorder, so, it will be good to rule that out.

Some people's skin naturally heals with larger scars while other people heal with hardly a trace! But please get a blood test slow healing can be a sign of diabetes... I used to work for a Dr office relaying patients questions to Drs.
