Hello, no I am not a drinker, and I am a small petite woman, I do not eat a lot of fatty foods. I have had a hepatitis panel done and it is negative. they did say that my liver is a little enlarged. So they are going to do an ultrasound on my liver and do some more blood test. Have been going to the doctor for a year and just got to see a gastrologist yesterday.
Are you a drinker? You could have Fatty Liver which is caused by a fat filled diet and or excessive drinking. With you liver enzymes being up I suggest laying off the booze and or high fatty foods and see a Dr.Drink plenty of water and or cranberry juice as the are natural antioxidants to help to cleanse the liver.
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Since you have pain under right ribs, had gall bladder removal and liver enzymes are raised, you will need further tests like pancreatic amylase and lipase, Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) or abdominal computed tomography (CT) or endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for definitive diagnosis. Please follow up with a hepatologist. If nothing is found then laproscopy may be needed to rule out adhesions and fibrosis.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
