Don't even know what doctor to go to

I have had two spinal surgeries very recently a month apart and it was brutal. It left my right leg partially paralyzed, but we don't know for how long, or what, time is the great healer.  I'm telling you this because, obviously, I am on some heavy medications that may be causing these symptoms.

Lately, I sweat profusely, especially my face, and it's embarrassing, I can't stop it either. Also, I have noticed that quiet a bit of hair comes out when I comb or brush my hair, and my hair seems course, like straw.  I have horrible gas that I can't hold in because some of those muscles aren't working all the way, and that is really embarrassing.  One thing that actually scares me is that I seem to jerk a lot.  Nothing major, just those once in a while involuntary body jerks, except mine are getting more severe and more prevalent.  I need to get to a doctor for all of this, but I don't even know what kind of doctor to go to?  I have a back surgeon, a leg surgeon, an infectious disease doctor, everybody, but not a hair loss/sweat doctor!   When I say I take heavy medications, I mean, I am wearing a Fentynol Patch, I take Dilaudid four times a day, I take blood pressure medicine, gabapentin for nerve damage, ambien and Ativan, among other things.  Can someone steer me in the right direction?  And, yes I know about becoming addicted and that the meds are strong, but I couldn't even move if I didn't have these strong pain medsl They removed the largest mass they had ever seen, it was wrapped around my entire spinal column, which broke two discs, and some of the shrapnel from the blown discs lodged in my nervous system along with not being able to get all the "mass" off of my spine either.  The first surgery was 7 hours and a month later, the second one was 4 and a half hours, so there is horrible pain.

No, I don't see a pain management doctor, but I will now! Thank you, that was a wealth of information.

The jerking side effects are very common with high opiate RX use. The sweating also comes from high opiate use. Do you have a pain pump yet that can deliver pain medication directly to your spine sparing your other body systems from the horrid side effects of opiates? Has your physician tried methadone or Subaxone in an attempt to lower tolerance? Unfortunately the higher the dose of pain killers the lower the tolerance to pain you can have as it dorks up your pain receptors.  The incontinence can be from the opiates as well as could very well be from possible cord impingement or nerve damage. I would see a pain management specialist if you don't already see one and a neurologist.

I forgot to put your name on the note I sent, so I'm doing a second post so you will know you got an answer.

Also, here are some side effects of gabapentin:
Common (occurs in more than 1 in 100 users)
feeling unwell, flu-like symptoms, sore throat, cough, dry mouth or throat, runny nose, loss of appetite, increased appetite, being or feeling sick, problems with teeth, inflamed gums, diarrhea, stomach pain, indigestion, constipation, flatulence, increase in weight.

anger towards others, confusion, mood changes, depression, anxiety, nervousness, difficulty with thinking, jerky movements, twitching, difficulty with speaking or coordination, increased, decreased or absent reflexes, loss of memory, tremor, difficulty sleeping, headache, spinning sensation.
‘pins and needles’, decreased sensation, facial swelling, bruises, rash, itch, acne, unusual eye movement, blurred vision, double vision, joint, muscle or back pain.  high blood pressure, flushing or dilation of blood vessels.
incontinence, swelling of the legs and arms, difficulty with walking, weakness, pain, accidental injury, fracture, abrasion.

I didn't see sweating, but I did see fever and flushing listed.  I think you can have sweating after anesthesia.  Blood pressure meds can have many side effects.

I'm sorry you are going through all this.  I can't be much help, except to say the hair loss could be from anesthesia reaction (temporary) but also from medications.  For the straw-like quality of the hair, I can suggest s
Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Baby-Mild Pure Castile Soap .  This needs to be followed by something acidic to make the hair smooth, so you could use either Dr. Bronner's Citrus Hair Conditioning Rinse or just plain Bragg's apple cider vinegar.  The ACV is known to encourage hair growth, but the problem is that you don't want to get it in your eyes, and I am sure it is hard for you to bend and do multiple steps in the shower right now.  The conditioner might be easier.  Either one you rinse out afterward.
