left temple pain

Hi my 9 year old son has been complaining for 5 months about pressure in his left temple. He seems absolutely fine, and the pressure has improved VERY slowly over the past 5 months, but he still does not feel better. He claims that it doesn't hurt, that it just feels like pressure. He also shakes his head a few times a day, because he says it relieves some of the pressure. He is also saying that both sides of his neck hurt a little. I'm not sure if this is because he is shaking his head or not. We have seen the doctor, gotten a CT scan, went to ENT, allergist, neurologist, and everyone says that he is fine. He gets upset when he has to go to all of these appointments, so I know that he is NOT lying about this feeling. Also i've been told that maybe he has a tick, and to just ignore it. I have ignored it for some time, and it's not going away. If it were a tick would he be complaining of this feeling in his head???? Someone help please I'm at he end of my rope....

Thanks so much for answering. I should have mentioned he had a regular checkup, and his bp was fine.  He has also been to the dentist and again everything was fine. ENT checked his ears, and also CT scan showed clear sinuses. I will go to the eye doctor next, that's a great idea, even though his eyes in the Dr's office were ok.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If all other specialist have given your son a clean chit, then consult an ophthalmologist and rule out poor sight like short sightedness and far sightedness. Temple pain can be due to high blood pressure. Sounds strange in a 9 year old but get his pediatrician to check his blood pressure with a pediatric cuff. Temporal arteritis, internal ear infection, TMJ and tooth decay can all cause a temple pain. Infection in the eye, glaucoma, and sinusitis are the other causes.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
