A related discussion,
3 weeks low fever was started.
Get checked for chronic hepatitis. Get copies of your labs and see if your ALT and AST are elevated. also have thyroid checked. Hyperthyroid can cause elevated body temps when it is uncontrolled...There are other autoimmune things that can drive this as well..don't let the Drs blow you off. TaKe care, and good luck....
Hello! Is your little one healthy otherwise? and drooling like a madman? Check for cutting teeth. Myself, and a multitude of other moms have been told teething won't cause fevers, but I'll be dipped if, as soon as those pearly whites don't pop through, the fever disappears...Hopefully, it's this simple..((((((((((((((HUGZ))))))))))
my 1 year has had a fever of unknown origin for 20 days straight... this is the second one in the past 6 months. Batteries of test show nothing abnormal. Headed to infectious control in two weeks. Any thoughts????? We are anxious as you can imagine.
Any update on your condition? I have had a low grade fever now for 16 days and have exactly the same symptoms as you. I am starting to worry.
I have had a low grade fever for over six months now.
All blood work came back normal, pelvic and abdominal ultra-sounds came back fine (with the exception of a small cyst in the uterus and a fibroid in an ovary) nothing that would cause this constant fever. I feel nauseas after eating (especially in the morning) and dizzy at times. The next step for me is to do a CAT scan with contrast of both the abdomin and pelvis... then on to the Endocrinologist. I have also been checked by an ENT and Allergist... all tests come up negative.
I'm writing you this to let you know that you are not alone. It's scary feeling like you are, especially when specialist after specialist cocks their head in confusion... I know I feel comforted knowing that someone else is experiencing the same thing I am and still plugging along for answers.
I also have had a low grade fever on and off for about 30 days. Urine and blood came back normal. I did one course of antibiotics. They didn't work. I am still waiting for my doctor to call me back. I am glad to finally find someone with the same symptoms.
Inf. dis. doc. had me do a barium cat scan, abdominal and pelvis ultrasound and catheter urine test. All came back ok except urine which had 2 organisms (one of which amoxicillian should have taken care of) and he gave me a new antibiotic. I did not improve. Today I had the 1st of 5 days of IV antibiotics. He thinks it is a kidney infection. Does this sound right? Why would I still have a kidney infection after all the antibiotics I have taken?
No rash, no night sweats, no swollen or painful lymph nodes. I am tired and when my fever gets high I nap.
Doctor had me take more blood test and a catheter urine sample (yuck). I am having another cat scan Sunday with barium this time. I also am getting an ultrasound for small ovarian cyts that my gyno has already said is probably nothing. In a month he also has me signed up for a colonosopy because of my anemia and family history (both gramps died of colon cancer, dad has had pre-cancerous polps (forgive spelling) removed.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Do you have any other symptoms such as fatigue, rash, night sweats, swollen or painful lymph nodes ?
