Your blood pressure is far too high.
To take your blood pressure correctly, you need to be relaxed, not talk whilst the reading is being taken, and not have been racing and rushing about and drinking a hot drink before having the reading taken. All these things will influence the reading of the blood pressure monitor.
Do you have any other symptoms like feeling dizzy or having a headache? Symptoms do not always present themselves with high blood pressure. Blood pressure that is too high or too low are both dangerous.
Make an appointment to see your doctor. He will monitor your blood pressure over a few weeks to see if this is just a temporary thing or whether it stays elevated. If it stays elevated, you will be put on medication to reduce the blood pressure.
At home you can help by cutting out salt and salty snacks and foods.
Try to learn to relax and stay calm and make sure that you drink enough water. Lose weight if you are overweight (easier said than done I know).
Best wishes.
Are you seeing a Doctor regularly? If not you need to make them aware of this. Sounds like you will be on medication which sometimes takes a while to get on the right regimen. This is not good on the heart and yes you can get to stroke level.. Take this serious.. Good Luck
Please go see your regular doctor fast I was the same as yourself only I was 180/110. When I went to the Doctor she said " You are a stroke waiting to happen" I am now almost always 120/70 some times even less and staying that way.. A few trips to the doc and mild blood pressure med's and feeling good!!
