After hip replacement i can not lift my leg without an excruciating pain. Also when getting in car, climbing stairs and sleeping at night, especially when i have to turn around.

Thanks everybody for your advise i have been to the doctor and done lots of tests and they still don't know.I did some research throw and found a medical journal with the problem i have and send it to my doctor. In short description it is the psoas muscle that is thickened  or impinged and they can fix it with injection or lengthening by operating. So i am hopeful that there is help out there. I will keep you up to date with the progress. In the mean time i am doing exercise that the Bio kinetic gave me to strengthen all the other muscles around the aria.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
In all probability the prosthesis is not sitting well and rubbing against the socket in which it was fit. Other than that infection and ligament injury could be a cause. Please do not ignore this and consult the surgeon immediately.
Take care!

As far as I understand from a friend who has already has one hop replaced, you are not to do much movement and exert no weight on that hip for many weeks - your doctor hopefully gave you some guidelines on that.  My friend found that those guidelines were very well suggested.  Her recovery period, at least at a bare minimum, was 6 weeks, though insurance gave her 3 months off.  Best talk with your doc about it and until then - don't put any weight or any twisting motion on that hip.

How long ago was the hip replacement?  I would recommend that you see your orthopod, to see if there's been any loosening of the components.  He would do an xray for that, and possibly some bloodwork to see if you have any infection in the site.  That kind of pain doesn't sound normal to me.

Hope that helps!
