scuba diving

I recently recently went scuba diving with sharks. It was my first dive and I was incredibly nervous. I was down at about 6metres for 30 minutes. I was breathing quite deeply and rapidly at times and whilst down there had a sharp pain in my chest every inhale I took. When I got out I felt faint and dizzy, my joint ache and the pain in my chest worsened. That was yesterday, today the pain is still there as well as the aches and though I no longer feel faint I think I have a fever and have stayed in bed all day. Any ideas in what is wrong? I looked up some possible causes but they all seem to involve very deep dives.

COBOB has provided an excellent answer. You don't have to dive deep for this to happen. You need to see a physician who knows about diving immediately.

As for sharks, for purposes of trivia, the Glock pistol is the only one with an accessory enabling it to fire underwater to protect yourself against sharks.

Bends (Nitrogen Narcosis) would involve deep or extended dive times,  but an air embolism can happen in just a few meters of water.  A fever is a sign of infection not associated with PE or N2 Narcosis.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The symptoms could be due to diving for first time, too high or too low oxygen or due to claustrophobia. Please get this investigated once. Hope this helps. Take care!
