stomach flu just dragging on

Last Thursday, I came home from work and was a bit tired, so i took a nap, upon waking up I found that I was still tired so just got ready for be, it was only 6 oclock.  About an hour or so later I became sicker then I have ever been before.  Vomiting and diareheaa at the same time, I felt awful, just wanted to die.  This lasted on and off about 3 hours and then I fell asleep till the next morning.  I have not thrown up since last Thursday but just can not seem to fight the tiredness and the on and off slight nausea ever sense.  I have missed 3 days of work and have been trying to eat and drink everyday to get my energy back.  I have been drinking water and Gatorade and eating a bland diet (saltines, toast, noodles, soup, bannanas, apple sauce) I have been sleeping between 9 and 12 hours every night but still cannot make it through a day feeling good.  The past two days I have woken up feeling pretty good but by 2 or 3 oclock I am exahausted.  My question is; "Is it normal for someone to take this long to get over a stomach virus?"  I am a healthy 26 yar old female.

It sounds more like the flu! You are doing everything I would do... it probably just work its way out of your system. If you don't feel any better by tomorrow afternoon, you may want to call your physician. Sometimes you can speak with the nurse and find out if they have been seeing other patients' with the same virus.

Good luck !

I think you should be feeling better by now. If you don't feel better in the morning I would definitly talk to my doctor.

Get well soon!
