A hiatus hernia will not give you a swollen belly.
If you are overweight, have an unhealthy diet and drink alcohol, like cider and beer, then the weight will settle around your belly.
Having a lot of belly fat can be due to diabetes or a precursor to it.
Make sure that you have a well balanced and healthy diet, cut out all fizzy and alcoholic drinks, only drink fruit juices in moderation. Cut out or reduce highly processed foods, junk food, biscuits, cakes and white bread. Use brown or seeded bread. To help with bowel movements eat foods that contain fibre - fresh fruit (with skin on) and vegetables and drink plenty of water.
Doing some form of exercise, even just walking, and moving about more
will help to get things moving, your bowels (but they seem to be fine) and also keep your body more supple and not stiffen up.
Being overweight will cause you to have difficulty to do up shoelaces and cause breathing problems.
You may have inflammation of the intestines which may be from something that you are consuming or from the medications that you are on.
Avoid fatty, fried and processed foods. Avoid bending after eating.
See your doctor if you are concerned. He will examine you and refer you for further investigation if he feels this is required, or just confirm that it is simply belly fat.
If you are overweight, some doctors in the UK do free referrals to diet clubs to help you and motivate you to lose weight. So do ask your doctor about this (if you need help to lose weight).
Best wishes.

I wonder if you have edema. Are you diabetic? You may have kidney problems. You need to get some tests done to see if it is intestinal or kidney related. I haven't checked your previous posts but that is what I think. An ultrasound of the kidneys and liver, gallbladder if you haven't had that done. Also, have your intestines checked with a lower GI or colonscopy. So, GI doctor should be able to check both. The earlier you get diagnosed the better. To test your pancreas you can have your blood tested for amylase and lipase that will check the function and the ultrasound should pick that up. You can ask them. It sounds more intestinal problem than pancreas. I have GERD too but don't have pancreatic problems. I take Zantac when I have stomach pain. The pain is in the upper left area but I had an upper GI done and it was GERD not cancer. So, it is best to check it out.
