tingling spot

About 7 days ago I accidentally got a door slammed on my finger. Skin broke and swelling was very little. My finger functions normally except my nail feels...hmm tough to describe but I can only describe it as that feeling you get when you put a clothes pin on ur finger tip and you take it off and you're left with this weird painful but numbing feeling. Also there's a spot on my finger that when anything touches it, it sends a sharp tingling sensation down my finger. Its annoying cause even washing dishes or tying my shoes can be painful. Could it be a damaged nerve? What should I do?

Just a slight nerve damage.  It will repair itself over time.  When nerves are regenerating, you might feel odd sensations in other parts of the finger or hand. Not to worry.  It's just those 'circuits' re setting themselves.

You possibly might lose that fingernail, too, but it will regrow.

Hello,  you might try putting Arnica ointment on your finger.  Arnica is a wild flower which has medicinal values.  It has been known to help buising and heal the small blood vessels under the skin.

Hope this is helpful to you and that your finger gets better soon. -  I found Arnica at Walgreens by the Mexican remedies.  It says on the jar that it is for cracked skin on the feet - but it works on other conditions as well.
