Thanks Silverfox.
I shall look into that MSM thing - no wonder you abbreviated it! I suffer with pain all over and have osteoarthritis in most joints, mild asthma and suffer from allergies.
Not to sure about helping the hair to grow. Don't mind in on my head to make that grow faster (I chopped 24" off in May), but certainly don't want any more on my legs and chin LOL :)
I have heard of the apple cider vinegar being good for arthritic problems.
PS My mother (94) drinks apple cider juice everyday for her arthritis pain. She says it works for her.
MSM is an herbal remedy. Methylsulfonylmethane. It is for joint pain/support, but it also helps regrow hair and is good for asthma, arthritis, allergies and Fibromyalgia. Some people claim that it helps with headaches and heartburn.
Doesn't help my heartburn - but does help me with the inflammation from Fibromyalgia.
I have never heard of MSM.
But I do know that Litozin which is Rosehip capsules are very good to help with inflammation.
Cherries, in capsule form, fresh, or juice is also good for inflammation.
Celadrin worked for me too. There is also Celaritis which contains celadrin.
And there are other natural anti-inflammatory medications on the market, like Glucosamine.
It is finding one that you are happy with and as they are not on prescription, one that you can afford.
I have tried all of the above, and I liked the Litozin and Celadrin, but found that they are expensive.
I have been eating a lot of fresh cherries and drinking cherry juice over this last week, and my bad knee and other joint pains are much improved. The only problem I have found is that I am itching. All I can think of is that I am allergic to too much of the fruit. It is hot and clammy here in the UK and the heat makes me feel itch too. I had my oat, baby oil, and Dermol 600 bath earlier on today and showered afterwards. So I reckon I am allergic to too much of the fruit that I have been eating. Missed my antihistamines over the last few days, so that doesn't help.
I find getting plenty of rest also helps, but gentle exercise and short walks help if the arthritis is not too debilitating.
Silverfox, what does MSM stand for? Is it a herbal remedy?
talk to your doctor he may be able to help your arthritis maybe getting worst hope you feel better soon
Arthur Ritis has been known to take us from joint to joint. We never know which joint is next. Sorry, a little humor.
MSM has been known to help with arthritis pain because it cuts down on the inflammation. I have recently started taking it myself, as I have Fibromyalgia and anything that cuts inflammation is okay in my book!
If you decide to try it, 1000mg with the meal of your choice is recommended.
Hope you feel better soon.
