undiagnosed fatigue

Hi

I have had tired, heavy-feeling legs for about three years. I was suffering from fatigue, caught a virus and never recovered my strength.

I was laid up constantly at first. I had to lie down for hours every day. When I tried to ignore my symptoms I ended up worse. In fact I ended up with pericarditis for some time.

Is this chronic fatigue? Does it ever stop?

I was wondering if there's any chance it could be because of muscles in my legs not being used anymore. I was a tree climber but since getting ill I haven't been climbing.

Thanks Silverfox

I thought some of those tips were helpful. I don't think I consume any aspartame though I wish it was a simple allergic reaction giving me a simple cure. If it is I'd like to know what it may be. I'm interested in seeing a doctor about those tests for deficiencies.

At the time I had blood tests for various viruses, thyroid issues hepatitis but all were negative. The GP did find I was low in iron and gave me shots to restore my levels.

I've had my heart checked and I'm over the pericarditis already.

I already exercise, too. It's difficult for me to keep a balance but I have to now. That might make it seem like I'm already over this but I'm really not satisfied with my level of healing, still. As an arborist I'm used to being very fit and healthy; now I'm never completely well and can't carry out my trade. While I'm developing another vocation, it's still disappointing to have health issues.

I know I'm not alone here in this respect but I believe many of us don't have to put up with our maladies: they are here for us to overcome and I'm trying to motivate myself to do so. I appreciate consideration others here can give to my plight as well. I understand it's mild compared to the problems some other members suffer and mean no disrespect to them.

First I would have your heart checked to make sure you are up to exercise.  Then have your doctor give you a prescription for physical therapy.  Yes, you could just go to a gym and use their machines... but a physical therapist can guide you back to health.  A warm swimming pool would probably work best at first - your muscles need to warm up and get used to moving again.
You might want to take a good multiple vitamin also and get some lab work to make sure your Vit. D levels and B 12 levels are up to par.  Magnesium is also very important to keep your muscles from cramping or going into spasm.
Make sure you are eating a good diet, as well.
Stay away from diet sodas especially, as they contain Aspartame which is a poison and can cause MS symptoms.

I hope this information was helpful to you.  Wishing you the best.
