Hi meercat111.
I would hold your doctor accountable to some degree,
allowing the perpetuation of your suffering for such a long time.
The reasons for your lack of improvement are more or less known.
It is not rocket science by any means.
This is basic medical science that ALL doctors should understand.
Eltroxin is synthetic T4 thyroid hormone which has to be converted to T3 -the hormone the body uses.
When symptoms do not improve, your doctor can order tests, such as Free T3 and Free T4 and Reverse T3,
even if all 3 of these tests may not be under the "recommended" procedure.
These tests will help verify thyroid FUNCTION, in contrast to the standard flawed tests which measure only serum thyroid hormone levels, used to diagnose hypothyroidism or to monitor treatment effectiveness.
You may also try on your own, Dr Barnes Basal Temperature Test. Just do a search for it.
Can you offer any details regarding your dosing, test results and symptoms? Feel free to include also any additional information you may consider pertinent.
Best wishes,
Niko
