3 Different Urologist Disgnoses

First Urologist said I have BPH; the second was very vague;  the third Urologist said I do NOT have BPH, but
I have Urethral Stricture.

My PSA has always been at 1.0 level.  I live in Northern New Jersey and want to find out what exactly
is my condition.

I would like to find the best Urologist in Bergen county, NJ area.  Also, is it easy to diagnose and treat
Uretral Stricture?

For the best urologists, check with a local university medical school(NYU?).

Hi,
Urethral stricture can be diagnosed by several methods. Commonly, uroflowmeter is used in which the patient passes urine into a funnel shaped container and the flow of urine is measured and an idea about any obstruction in the flow of urine can be had. A retrograde urethrogram in which a dye is injected and x-rays taken help in the detection of a urethral stricture. Cystoscopy can also help in the same. The treatment of the urethral stricture is initially done with the help of urethral dilators and the surgery (urethroplasty) is carried out only if the dilatation method fails. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
