BPH , Urinary problem , ejaculation problem ?

Hi ,

I would be pleased to have an advice and learn from others experience.
It is a long time that I suffer from the symptoms that I will describe below.
I am confused because my Urology doctor  said that I actually have nothing.
But still I have these symptoms and I do suffer from them.

Here are the list of symptoms that I experience for the last 4 years or more:
1) During recent times when I went to cinema I couldn’t enjoy, If I drink some light drink before that I am enforced during the watching to go out to urinate.
2) I sometime have a pain and discomfort at some point which is above the pin.
3) I sometime have a pain in the lower part of the abdominal, sort of strange pain and a lot of discomfort.
4) Retrograde ejaculation – I came to this whle I was browsing on the web, symptoms described looks similar. In my case if you I ejaculate very little or no semen.
5) I did have difficulties with urination but they have almost completely disappeared since I am taking Alfuzosine, for the last 3 months.
Test that I did during the lasr 3 years show: my PSA is very low. Ultrasound results showed that my right kidney is a little bit smaller then the left one , but the doc said that I should not be concern about that.  Ultrasoud results for the kidneys and the Urinary system (mapping of kidneys and Urinary system) were  OK, although that it is said that the drainage from the right kidney is a little bit slower then normal, overall my Urology doctor said that I am supposed to be completely relax also with these results from the Ultrasound.

I also made a CT test for the kidneys and Urinary system and  my Urology doctor said that all looks OK and I can be relax with that.

Also my Urology doc checked and told me that Prostate is not enlarge or enlarged very little.
My Urology doc thinks that this is - irritated urethra.

Could it be - BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) ?

Also I would like to add that I suffer for some years from IBS (irritable bowl sydrom).

I am very confused, and suffer from this problem very much.
I would appreciate any advice or sharing of experience.

Thank you,
Jack

Hi,

Sine my last post, I took antibiotics for 1 week.

And also since then I am taking on a daily basis Permixon 160 mg  and Alfuzosine. Those are very light meds (as far as I know) that anyone can take for life. Permixon is not even a med by a food additive.

It looks like that everything is OK now. I hope that iw will remain OK for the future.

Also I did Ultrasound and all found to be OK.

I also have to say that I took cranberry when I had the discomfort and I think that it helped a lot.

Thank you,
Jack

Hello,
For diagnosing urethritis, you need to get a urine examination and a culture of the urethral discharge done. Other than that a DNA-based testing should be ordered for chlamydia and gonorrhea.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Dear Dr. Bhupinder,

Thank toy for your response.

Should I see Urologist or should I look doc a doc who which is an expert in STD?
Wouldn’t it be seen in the Ultrasound test that I did if that was urethritis ?
What should I do in order to diagnose if the problem is urethritis  or interstitial cystitis ?
Is there a remedy for these problems ?

Thank you,
Jack

Hello,
Chances of prostatitis on account of low PSA are low. These symptoms can be due to urethritis or interstitial cystitis as well which is a chronic disease of the urinary bladder associated with pain associated with the bladder, pain associated with urination and pain during ejaculation
Discuss these two possibilities with a urologist and get it evaluated.
