Giggling Incontinence

I am wondering what the average ages for people with giggling incontinence are. I know this is a school-age condition, but I have had this since I was in kindergarden and am now a university student, still suffering from the same thing with limited response to treatment. I am constantly told that this is something I'll outgrow, but I'd appreciate knowing that my case isn't the only one at this age, that I'm not a strange solitary scenario. (even if it is, at least I wouldn't be wondering all the time)

My daughter has suffered from this giggle incontinence since very young.  She is getting ready to go to college, however, this condition has gotten so bad I don't think she can leave home.  It is a daily occurance.  It controls our lives.  I have to work nights to be home to answer calls from school, take clothes, or be home (per school policy) when she leaves.  It kills her when this happens.  We have tried Ditropan, anaspaz (sp?), and Ritalin.  NOthing worked.  I'm at wits end.  She has been to Riley's childrens hospital...This has gotten worse.  She is very, very tiny (5', 92 lbs) not sure if something is underdeveloped.  I had this as a child..Only outgrow it cause life isn't as funny when you get older.  I'll pee laughing maybe once a year.  The doctors comment above was NOT helpful.  Why even bother?!  Where is the studies, answers...Is this neuro?  Would Kepra, Depakote, or something like help??  Answers please!!!  I would drive my kid to other states for a cure.  I work with people on disability for things less consumig than this....sincerely, a mom who cares

Hi,

Giggling incontinence is particularly common in school children and it rarely occurs beyond the age of 25 years.

Hope this helped. let me know if you may need any more help.
