I am SCARED>

I am a sixteen year old male,

On my Glans Penis? i have recently noticed a patch of white-grey skin (discoloured would be the word I would use). After researching on the internet is there a chance it could be BXO? I seem to have the symptoms for random diseases as well, such as phimosis, but i can retract my foreskin O__O. but yaknow, the white ring thing is still quite tight and maintaining an erection is slightly painful. But yes, there are small little white lines close to the ring, im not sure if it is scar tissue or something else entirely.

So yeah, please help if you can- frankly im scared im a freak. Also my GP is a family friend and yeah.. :/ awkward.

thanks, gg

thank you all for your responses, it is really encouraging to see a community that is willing to help and advise me in such delicate matters that i am inexperienced in! :).

in reply to rmprdl, i do clean my foreskin daily, except when i tense? the penis during an erection, it does cause a bit of pain. However logically thinking im assuming thats more on the normal side, but my lack of knowledge in these matters totally disregards the validity of my assumptions. But yeah, i guess ill prolly have to man up and talk to the doctor :/. once again thank you for the responses so far, theyre really helpful !

Hi,

It is impossible for a doctor to make a right diagnosis without seeying the problem at hand.

From what you are describing it does sound like you have difficulty in retracting your foreskin. As you should have been doing so on a daily basis, the foreskin should have become looser. This does not mean that it is too late now and that you would have to resort to circumcision. Any doctor should try other methods prior to considering circumcision.

Since you mention that you do have problems with a tight foreskin, one can assume that you might not have cleaned under the foreskin on a daily basis. Due to that it is very likely that you have balanitis. If this is the case your doctor will most likely prescribe you a steroid cream.
I came down with balanitis in 2009 when I had a catheter in for about a year. Female doctor, all though a very good doctor first suggested circumcision. I made it quite clear that I had lived with my foreskin itact for 43 years, I was not willing to give it up now.

As for being embarresed about seeying a doctor, most of them have gotten in contact with male patients some times several times a day.
For myself as an example, currently have urological problems for which I'm under the care of a urologist for. Needing to have had several cystoscopies (procedure where they pass a scope through the penis into the urethra and bladder to look for any abnormalities.) This urologist sees numerous penises in one day. Most of the time a cystoscopy for a urologist takes less then 5 minutes on the everage. The urologist providing care for me has nurses prepare the patients before he even gets into the OR. Most of the times several OR are in use and the urologist just moves from room to room. I guess that this will provide you with an idea as to how may patients, (in the case of males, penises) he'll see.
At first I was just as embarrised as you are. My very first time at a urologist appointment I was nervous enough to have a tremmer all over my body.
Now at almost 47, I have ended up in hospital on so many occasions where the subject at hand were UTI, kidney infections. As a result medical staff has seen me nude on so many instances that I no longer care or worry about this.

I hope that you will be able to get this under control. No knowing what it is will make you worry unneccessarily.

All the best

btw, the discolouration is close to the slit where the pee and stuff comes out of, if that helps anyone at all

thank you all for your responses, i guess i have to man up and just ask eh. but is there a chance a normal penis could have slight discolouration on the Glans Penis? Or is it like a "ohwtfbbq, definately something really wrong going on there" thing.

Your all over the place with your symptoms and what you're describing.

Unfortunately for you, I'm going to tell you what you already know you should be doing... go and see a doctor. You don't have to see your family-friend doctor, and can always go to a clinic (Kelsey Seybold) to get checked out.

Why are you embarrassed to see your GP? Honestly, that's what doctors are for, and he'd probably thank you for seeing him about it first.

If it's nothing serious, ask him no to tell your parents. Although you're 16 and he has the right to tell your folks, if he's a decent guy, he'll keep it to himself unless it's something major that you'll need help with.

Don't sweat it dude... go to a clinic and get yourself checked out. Best advice I can give.

Sorry I'm not more helpful.
