Meatus burning after urination?

HI there,
two days ago I experienced a pain after urination, that was going from the bottom to the top of my penis. then the next day the pain was gone, but now  I have a burning after urination at the top of my penis, the meatus, and nothing elese.
I had unprotected sex exactly one year ago, underwater. but I didn't experience any of these symptoms since then. I sometimes wash my penis with liquid soap from time to time after masturbation.
What could this be?

Thanks a lot Vanessa, for your comment and advice.
I got some antibiotics from my doctor, and I am also waiting for the urinary culture tests.
Best wishes, Men1

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

If the burning sensation involves the urethral opening only, then this may suggest a dermatitic skin condition or a superficial skin irritation. You have mentioned of sexual activity almost a year ago. This should not be an STD as STD's usually present days to week after exposure. In the absence of a urethral discharge, swelling and enlarged lymph nodes in the groin area, I would not be very worried. However , I would still suggest for a baseline urinalysis to be done.

Continue washing the area with a mild cleanser such as Cetaphil and keep the area dry and moisturized.
