Penis vein problem

Hey, I have been concerned about the veins in my penis for a last 1½ weeks. I noticed one new, visible vein on the left side of my penis, and that the other veins that were before only slightly visible had now become much more prominent and bulging. And this is when I'm not hard. When I have erection these veins are not so visible, unless I'm standing: then they ugly pop up to the surface (hasn't happened before, not this much at least).

Anyway, I immediately started to search the net to find out what was wrong, and read through everything that sounded even slightly of my problem, from varicose veins to lymphatic vessel thrombosis. Well, what I found out from Penis Enlargement forums (heh) actually sounded kinda much the condition that I have: these guys who have been doing all these kind of jelqing and stretching exercises (I'm not one of them if anyone suspects..) say that after few weeks they started to get new veins to their penises, and they were showing even when flaccid (just like mine).

They say that it's completely natural that your penis reacts to the exercises like that. Well, I haven't been doing anything like that of course, but I think that there could be another reason for my veins to bulge: I've been *sigh* jerking off for some time now kinda intensively. Maybe too long sessions, too many times a day with a little too strong grip have caused my veins to grow so much?

Well, now comes the question part. Can you reduce vein size back to what it used to be? I mean are veins like muscles: if you don't use them they start to become smaller? I have thought that if I jerked off from now on max once per 2 days (a lot less work to the veins than before) very gently, could they start to reduce in size? Or are there other ways to make them smaller and less visible? Getting a little more fat?

If someone has an answer for this I would be sooo grateful. This thing has a very bad effect to my self-esteem, because my **** used to be those few things in my body that I was happy with, and I hate to think that it'll be ugly like this for the rest of my life.

While it never hurts to see a medical specialist to get an opinion, the veins you are seeing are most likely the result of either rough sex or masturbation. I had something similar happen to me as well but without any disturbing effects which caused me additional concern past the initial curiosity. Our penises often change like other parts of our bodies as we grow from puberty to the different stages of adulthood. The changes which you may see as unpleasant in the veins of your penis are often found as erotic or exciting by potential partners. In the end though, it it’s up to you to decide if you feel good about the changes you see. If you’re not ok with what you see or you fear that something more concerning may be developing, you should consult a medical doctor. While masturbation is very healthy at all ages for physiological and psychological reasons, you might try reducing sexual activity for a period of time to see if the veins go away or become less pronounced. Men’s health very much involves all aspects of penis health, for all the obvious reasons. Good luck with it!

Veins on penis are very difficult to treat.. There might be only surgery as an option. But yes, as you age, your vein wall strength and elasticity reduces and it's easier for vein valves to get damaged when you use your penis, because constant back and forth action causes vein valves to improperly close eventually which damages vein, especially with 'strong grip' as you said.

I have a similar problem. I have a 4 cm varicose vein on my ankle, probably from standing for longer periods, so I know I have inherited them. Then I have like purple vein on my shoulder and every time I work out my bicep from inside has red rash - it's spider veins I think from increased pressure they just become damaged. So every time I work out I feel itch in many veins, like on the inside of elbow, where I see thin purple vein and it appered in the last year.

Speaking of penis veins. I had normal penis until a year ago when I started to notice small thin veins appearing on the outer skin of penis, they were purple ranging from 1 mm to 0.01 mm, so very tiny. I think they have expanded and it's just visible through skin as I age. Now I see them developing new like almost every few weeks, there is 'freshly red' tiny vein around some old one and with time it becomes also purple like others.

Then recently one of those tinier veins I've seen a long time ago now is connected to larger vein (along left side outer skin) which goes on both sides of penis and connects below glans area (bulbourethral vein i think).

They are now (in the past 3 months) showing even when i'm flaccid and I also see 2 'ribs' on the left side (circumflex veins).

Another thing is my glans has never fully filled up (only when orgasming), so I guess it's also vein related.

I'm only 23 years old.

I also have such lump of vein very much visible even my penis is flaccid.I have been seeing it from my childhood but the only time I felt discomfort due to this was when I used a condom on my 26th age.The band on the base literally strangled my veins.Anyway I'm not going for any medical treatment unless I feel pain there.I don't have any vericose vein on my other body parts.maybe I guess vein swells where the muscles are strong and am ok with that as of now. (Hihi) but thinking about the chance of breaking the nere gives me a chill always.so leave it and and ensure your muscle consumes the extra blood flow through the vessel ;)

I've had the same problem for the past two weeks. I think it is due to change in pants. I started wearing tighter jeans and tighter underwear about a month ago. (I also started having more of those random erections for another reason, but I don't think it's related) Today I decided to test this hypothesis and wore loose trousers and underwear. The veins have considerably decreased in size and are much less noticeable.

So I recommend trying wearing loose clothes for a few days and also being careful with sex and masturbation (especially when condoms are involved).

Let me know if this helps!

I am having the same problem with new veins appearing. I am 25 years old and I have already had surgery for varicose veins in my leg and need to have a second surgery. My penis does not hurt like my leg does, but should I be concerned seeing as I have problems with vericose veins already?

Hi I've got the same issue and I'm wondering should I just leave it and it will go away? I don't want to see a doctor as I don't want them to see my penis if I'm honest!

Hi,

I have a similar problem with an exception, however, I know where I got my veins from. It all started after having pushed my penis hard while fully erect against an impenetrable surface (Not exactly but I'd like to keep the details for myself), anyway, I believe it's due to high pressure.

In the beginning I went online and looked for answers; some suggested it takes 6 weeks to whatever time to get back to normal, provided that no rough sex or masturbation is involved during the healing period. Well, nothing changed and I ignored it for a long time. However, 2 years later my scrotum began to itch, and I started to notice something that looked like a lump or cyst so I suspected testicular cancer and went for examination...

Surprisingly, there was nothing found to be wrong down there and my urologist said it was completely natural for new veins to grow in that area with age (I am 35 only), and that there were no cysts or anything scary found. May I mention that my urologist did an ultrasound checkup and an erection test. Anyway, I kept researching the subject and apparently cysts are solid or hard whereas the one I got is jelly and moves when I push it around. It almost feels like my own semen is trapped in there. Again, another vein grew just below the ring and I went for another checkup with another urologist and nothing wrong was found....

Now, I still have the same problem, the jelly substance has increased in volume and it is still itchy down there. Moreover, my ejaculation is not as good as it used to be in terms of distance and quantity. It almost feels like something is stopping it from flowing freely, but it does come out. Now the reason I am still worried is because occasionally I get pain and some of the veins at the bottom of my testicles are swollen a bit and seem to be under pressure or something. I am 100% sure something is wrong down there but I have very little trust in the medical  industry and I do not wish to get naked anymore in front of men or having men touch my thing because I am very uncomfortable with that idea.

Note: For the past year, I have been away from my wife due to work, thus I do masturbate 3-4 times a week simply because I need to get the sexual urge out of my system as I tend to become stressed out if I don't, and because it is a lot healthier than simply suppressing/ignoring it.

Any valuable input will be highly appreciated.

Did your problem go away?

Thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge and personal experience.

It may be a blood clot so you probably should get it checked out.

I'm 24 and recently (like within this month) I've had varicose veins appear on my legs, wrists and now one on my penis on the left. It doesn't hurt really, but ocasionally kinda tingles. I'm gonna get myself checked out tho!

I tried the inclined bed therapy thing, although at a lower angle than suggested, for about a week. It seemd to make my veins worse...

when i pull down my foreskin, on the top side (the side closest to my stomach) there is this thicker (for a vein) 2mm or so thick and 3cm long and feels hard what looks like a vein that go's  from way below inside my

foreskin in a line towards my my penis head. it appeared out of nowhere a few weeks ago. Its more superficial thicker than other veins and you can actualy see and feel it on the surface of my penis skin, its more white/red colored, a few cm long.

is that a penile varicose vein?

I'm with Dana on this one I have varicose veins all the way up the underside of my penis and was highly anxious and concerned about the implications this may have on my sex life. When I had my first sexual relationship I was relieved of my concerns, my girlfriend re-confirming what Dana just said. It won't be a problem and if it is, your definitely with the wrong person.

Young Dude, i've recently noticed the same thing happen to me.  I had a sudden appearance of veins on my penis.  I had really no visible veins at all and in the span of a few days suddenly had red/purplish veins appear all over the shaft of my penis.  Just wondering if you have figured out the possible causes or any possible treatments?  What worries me most is the very rapid change in the appearance of my penis.

I just thought I'd comment, as a woman.

Any woman that says ANYTHING about your penis being not up to par is a WASTE of your time. Don't let anyone think you are less than perfect for ANY reason. Women have to embrace the differences in men just as much as men have to embrace the differences in women. We all look different-- some have stretch marks, different looking vaginas and labia, but that really doesn't matter unless you make it your priority. I had a boyfriend with varicose veins in his scrotum, and I caused him pain once or twice because he didn't tell me-- because he was worried I would make fun of him. I didn't of course, and I absolutely didn't want to cause any pain or embarrassment either!!

I hope you don't worry yourself sick. Remember, what I say, ok? They're not worth it if they care that much.

Cheerio young dude,
Dana

I am 55 and have the same hexagonal veins on the under shaft of my Penis with a charictaristic Hexaganal layout with 2 vertical "rippling" veins with a similar set up on the Top side but (thankfully) not quite as noticeable. And it lists very slightly to the left, when flaccid and erect and this I hate the most.
Although I masturbate only Once on the average day as my wife is no longer very interested, I do so much rougher than before. This is what I attribute these problems to. And as you may find, masturbation is highly addictive. I have been contemplating a drug to take for a couple of months just to give poor "Henry" a well earned break.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

I know you are highly anxious about this. At this point the primary concern shall be : What is the implication of this condition to your health? The presence of these prominent veins do not pose any threat to your health and this should offer some relief. With regards to the aesthetic aspect, I think that any intervention is not indicated at this point. Aside from concerns regarding aesthetic reasons, this does not give you any symptoms at all . Manipulating the area may only initiate problems. For as long as the prominent veins do not affect sexual response, do not present with any symptoms of pain, redness or discoloration, this is not something to really worry about. At this point there is no known effective method in treating penile varicose veins unless it is caused by an underlying clot within the vessels.
