My husband has had CPPS since developing radiation-induced ulcerative proctitis and has tried everything suggested on the Prostatitis Internet forum with no success. Besides medications for the proctitis, he is taking Neurontin in a low dose and is increasing it to see if that helps. Now he has blood and protein in his urine which the doctors say shows kidney dysfunction. What causes kidney dysfunction? How serious is it? Could that be part of his CPPS pain? He just went to a lab today for blood and urinalysis tests so we don't have the results yet.
yes it was and they collected fluid from my prostate and nothing
Hi
Pain in the groin area may be due to chronic pelvic pain syndrome or prostatodynia in male patients. This may suggest further evaluation of the prostate. In cases such as these however, chronic pain may not be associated with inflammation or infection. Until now, causes of chronic pelvic pain syndrome are not well established. Prostatodynia may not show anything in transrectal ultrasound and the prostate may not be tender or swollen. Bacterial culture may not also show anything.
Was an abdominal CT scan done?
