Removal of testis
Hi there,
My left testis is growing large and I have been suggested to get it removed. I don't know what would this involve. Please let me know if any has been through a situation like this and how to go about it.

How are you? Orchiectomy or surgical removal of one or both testes. There are three basic types of orchiectomy: simple, subcapsular, and inguinal which can be done with local or general anesthesia. It is best that you discuss the procedure being done on you with your doctor. Standard blood and urine tests are also requested before the procedure. Most patients can go to work the following day. Some pain and swelling is also normal and can be managed with prescription medication. Take care and best regards.
