Hello. About 4 years ago after lifting a heavy item I had some left testicle pain that was diagnosed as epididymitis, the doctor at the time told me to take Advil and go easy for a while and it cleared up a few weeks later. 2 years ago I had left testicle pain, a different doctor did an ultrasound to check for a hernia and when it came back negative gave me the same advice and it cleared up in a few weeks. Fast forward to January this year when I again lifted something heavy and immediately afterwords felt nauseous and felt nauseous for a few days. I started to have left testicle pain so I went to my new GP (I moved late last year) and after an ultrasound looking for any testicular masses he diagnosed me with a groin strain. Pain continued and he sent me to a urologist. Urologist told me I had epididymitis and gave me Bactrim and other advice like making sure to not sit too long and to use heat therapy. I took Bactrim for 2 weeks and started having some side effects so I was advised to stop taking it. Since then pain has been variable with weeks of not having any pain and then the pain returning. Yesterday I went to the urologist and he perscribed Cipro. I have some ligament pain normally and the serious warnings around Cipro and the fact the Bactrim didn't help me makes me unwilling to take Cipro. The only connection I can seem to make is the epididymitis may be related to ejaculation as my pain decreased when I didn't for a week or so and then resumed after I did ejaculate about 4 times in one day. This pain has been bothering me for almost 6 months now. Any help would be appreciated.
