Testicular pain

I have been having mild to mildly moderate pain in my right testicle for a few days now. I also have been having pain in my right abdomen. When I examine my right testicle I don't feel any lumps but the top of it is very tender to the touch and the testicle seems to be higher then normal. I feel the whole testicle, the bottom, and sides and there is no pain until I get to the top. Also, I'm not sure if the pain is even on the testicle, if feels like it's in between my testicle and the inside connecting to my penis but not on my penis. Could it be swollen spermatic cord? Also, I have no pain while urinating or coughing although it is a little uncomfortable while walking. The discomfort seems to calm when I lie down or sit reclined on the sofa. I'm 20 and haven't been sexually active for a couple months and when I am I use protection so I'm sure its not an STD. I have a scheduled appointment on Friday but I would like to know what it could be and if I need to move up the appointment.

Thanks for the answer. No, haven't had any tests done yet. I'm going to see my primary physician on Friday. The good news is that today the pain in my abdomen is pretty much gone and the pain in my testicle has eased up a little and it isn't as swollen, without the help of any anti-inflammatory drugs or anything. What do you make of this? That it is slowly going away. I am either way going to go to the doctor even if the pain is completely gone by then. Better safe then sorry.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

We need to rule out a scrotal or inguinal hernia at this point. I would suggest that you have this assessed by your primary physician. A referral to a urologist will help as this may need imaging studies. A scrotal ultrasound and an abdominal CT scan may determine if a hernia is present. A urinalysis will also help determine if a urinary tract infection may be contributing to the symptoms.

Have you had any baseline tests done so far?
