Urethroplasty recovery for boyfriend HELP!

Hello All,

I am wondering of your experience pre-and-post urethroplasty with sexual intercourse.  My boyfriend has been dealing with strictures pretty much his whole life.  He is 41 and had a urethroplasty over 11 weeks ago.  Before the procedure he refused to have sex and again after the recovery period also refusing.  Did you feel a reduced sex drive? What was pain with an erection like, after recovery?  I try to talk to him about it but he just won't comment.  I'm beyond frustrated at this point and trying to be accommodating but it's difficult when I don't understand what's happening.  Please let me in on your experiences.

Thank you!

Hi! I underwent urethroplasty five years ago, but didn't experience a lowered sexual drive. However, give him time for recovery, a couple of months more. Also he needs your support and understanding (my girlfriend helped me a lot with the recovery). If he had no sexual drive even before the surgery, then inflammatory issues (prostatitis) or mental condition should be also considered. He may also try Viagra or cialis to help him with getting good erection.
