Very High white Blood cell count in Urine

I'm a 40 yr old female with history of UTIs. Approximately 7-8 in the last year. I yet again have another
infection. I'm soooo tired of dreading to go to the bathroom and being on medication all the time. My Physician said the white blood cell count in my Urine is "through the roof" at around a 1000. What could cause the cell count to be so high? I am an active person, eat a decent diet although it could be better on the vegetables. I exercise regularly and maintain a healthy weight. I urinate and shower after sex and have been married to the same man for 19 years. My husband is afraid to have sex with me because he is afraid I'll have another infection. I have just had an IVP done and my Kidney function looks good. I have appt. with a Urologist in a week.

I know that fluid intake of mostly water can take that away and once that it has gone away, cranberry juice usually helps of recurrence. You can also start doing the retraction of the muscle to toughen up the muscle around the area. I think it was call kegal exercise or something like that.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
I can understand the pain & agony you’re going through but you need to fight out this problem of recurrent UTI. I hope you’re ensuring adequate fluid intake. A very simple measure is to see the color of the urine. If you’re not taking adequate fluids, it’ll be yellow; otherwise it will be colorless like water. Regular consumption of citrus fruits like oranges also helps in preventing recurrent UTI as they cause acidification of the urine. You will also need continuous prophylaxis with drugs like nitrofurantoin to prevent UTI. This may go on for 6-12 months. It’s good to know that your renal functions are good. Please do discuss with a urologist. Wishing you good luck. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
