citrobacter koseri

Citrobacter koseri >100,000 colony forming units per mLI had no symptoms of a UTI other than the color of my Urine turned to an Amber color.  I forced fluids for a few weeks and when there was no change, went to my PCP for a Urinalysis.  I had experienced left lower back pain that flanked and very painful.  I thought I may be trying to pas a Kidney Stone.  My regular Urinalysis was 90% Flagged so my Urine was sent to a Microbiologist.  That was also nearly all Flagged.  My PCP started me on an antibiotic - Nitrofurantoin Mono, 100 Mg Cap, 2 a day for 7 days.  That was 4 days ago.  Today I showed a New Test Result in My Chart.  They had done a culture & it came back showing “citrobacter koseri - >100,000 colony forming units per mL  Flagged  I am 73 years old, have not been sexually active for 15 years and maintain excellent hygiene.  It’s the weekend and we are scheduled to go out of town tomorrow for a 4 day visit with family. When I pull this up, it’s confusing, and nowhere can I find what the NORMAL colonies forming units per mL should be. I do have autoimmune diseases.  Adrenal Insufficiency and Parkinson’s Disease. Can anyone shed any light on this & specifically, what is normal?  My UTI appears the same.  No pain, urge to urinate and a good flow.  Still amber in color.  I drink 8+ glasses of water a day and am not prone to repeated UTI’s. ANY help would be so gratefully appreciated!

UTI's can happen. I hope that this has resolved and am sorry you didn't get a timely answer. Cipro normally will knock that out. Did you ever get symptoms from it?

Thank you for your answer!
No, I never did get any symptoms.  My Urine still is darker than it should be.  I’m unusually tired is all.
Finished my antibiotics a week ago.
My PCP didn’t schedule a follow up, so I will assume it’s gone.
Thank You Again! ❣️
