split urine

Hi i am 45 yrs old. I have split urine problem when passing the urine.  it splits into two or more. also at the end it drips, and if i hold for long time i feel too much pressure on the urinary tract and difficult to pass at the begining. the problem is since 5 years back. i have not had any health problems in the urinary system at all. i visited a doctor (urologist) and advised me after examination that the prostate is of normal size and no infection. the ebladder emptying speed is 6.5 out of 20. the doctor told me that the protate mussle is contracted and pusing on the urinary tract. so he gave me a medicine to use for 30 days. i am using the medicine but i do nto any chnages. i have read some thread / forums whicn indicate that there might be a constriction the urinathen . so i wounder if this is the case. if it is constriction, then what are the causes? do i have to cure it or live with it.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

If the urine is splitting in two streams, it can be due to congenital defects, scarring of the urethra due to STDs or other trauma, Obstruction, structural changes in lower urinary tract and prostatis. Passing of recurrent kidney stones can also cause scarring of the urethra and hence two streams of urine.

For evaluation of the same, I would suggest you to get it examined from a urologist and get an ultrasound and cystic urethrogram done to confirm the diagnosis.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
