urge to pee 5 times a night. void twice. What should I do?

Note: I am in my early 40's. I am male. I am overweight. I do not have incontinence. For past 25 years, I wake up a few times a night and pee. This also effects my sleep sometimes. I have to void twice sometimes.

Every night I go pee 4 or 6 times. I get a urge to pee and it wakes me up. It hurts if I do not pee and I can't go back to sleep if I do not pee. I do not have incontinence. I went to the doctor recently. The doctor would not refer me to a urologist. He told me to stop drinking at 6pm. For the past 3 months, I have been doing Kegel exercises. I have stopped going pee about 6 times a night to about 4 to 5 times a night now. Also, the Kegel exercises have reduced my nighttime urge (to pee) PAIN a little. I wake up about ever 1 hour and 20 minutes on average. The first time I wake up I usually pee a lot of ounces. After the first time (night), I pee about several ounces of pee (around 5 to 9 ounces of pee each time). Every time I pee at night I spend about 3 to 5 minutes at the toilet to get all the pee out. I have to void twice sometimes. I eat healthy. I usually drink water. Sometimes I drink a little milk or orange juice. A couple times a week I drink a little soda (barely any).

When I go to work in the day, I drink about 10 to 15 ounces of water before I go to work. Before I start work I go pee. I usually drink a few ounces (2 to 5 ounces) of water before my work breaks. I then go pee during break. I could hold it for about 3 to 3 1/2 hours sometimes before I have to go pee again. I drink a lot of liquids (water mainly) after work.

When I do not work, I drink water throughout the day. I stop drinking water at 6pm. Even when I am not working I still wake up a lot each night to go pee. I drink anywhere from 80 ounces to about a 100 ounces of liquids (mainly water) a day.

1. Tell me what do you think (Your diagnosis). What do you think I have possibly?
2. What should I do next (now)?
3. If you tell me to take medicine, I'm worried the medicine could give me incontinence. Is there a chance medicine (for my peeing) will give me incontinence?

Note: my ears are sensitive to medication that is ototoxic. I get ringing in my ears (tinnitus).

Has your doctor checked your prostate? This sounds a lot like you might have a prostate issue.

Urgent need to urinate often is also associated with urinary tract infections, but those generally cause quite a bit of pain.
