How long does it take to recover from Vitamin D deficiency

Hi, I'm a 17 year old Female and I just got my blood work back and I have a low of 17 vitamin D level. I've noticed for the past two years that I have hip pain and I figured it was from running. I run track and I notice this pain the most after or during workouts. My doctor ordered X-rays and they came back normal and a MRI which showed I had swollen lymphnodes around my hip. My doctor believes it's nothing to worry about, but yet again, I've had this issue for two years and I just now got a MRI done. So to say the least, we are switching doctors.  My results for my blood work came back as so:
Neutrophils: 59High average is 33-57
Bands: 5 average is 0-9
Lymphocytes:19 low average 25-33
Monocytes: 15high average 0-9
Eosinophils- 1 average 0-6
Vitamin D level: 17 average 30-100
My doctor prescribed me vitamin D and muscle relaxors. In hopes of some answers! I really love running and I want to know when I'll be able to get back at it and start running again!

Your D3 is severely deficient. I was at 19ng/mL in September and will retest my blood in a few weeks.

You may be taking D2. That is bad. You need D3 and taken daily, not weekly or monthly. There's not enough D3 in foods to raise your levels and you need UVB rays for your body to convert it to D3. You need to be located at least 34 degrees about the equator for UVB rays to be present, even if the sun is out.

US lab range is 30-100ng/mL. You need to be above 50ng/mL. Anything below should be considered deficient.
UK should be 150-250nmoL

D and magnesium deficiency can cause depression, fatigue, anxiety, pain, brain fog, headache, eye sensitivity, etc.

You need Vitamin D3 supplements, magnesium and Vitamin K2 (as long as you aren't taking medications that would conflict with K2).

You could start at 5,000iu D3 daily for a few days to see how you feel, then work your way up to 10,000iu daily. Even when you get to corrected levels, you need to supplement daily. D3 does not stay in your body.

5,000iu is more like maintenence dose. You must retest your blood after 3 months to see where your levels are at.

The only blood test that can diagnose vitamin D deficiency is a 25-hydroxy-vitamin D (25 OH vitamin D). Unfortunately, some doctors are still ordering the wrong test, 1,25-dihydroxy-vitamin D.

Magnesium is essential, you need to take it with your D3. Take D3 with some sort of fat (like coconut oil, avocado, peanut butter, etc.  it helps D3 & K2 absorb). Take D3 in morning or afternoon. Not at night. It may keep you up.

Have you checked your iron / ferritin levels?
Being a runner you need a higher level

Thank you all for your help! I've been eating healthier and taking multi vitamins plus the vit D my doctor prescribed. I started to run again and it seems to be gettin a bit better! I know I should hold off on it until ion fully recovered, but it's what I love to do... The only thing that runs grouch my family that I can think of is lymphoma cancer. I have swollen lymphnodes ion my right hip but my doctor said its nothing to worry about. ( my doctor is also not a very good one and working on switching over to another one) I do run outside and I'm outside a lot so I'm not sure why my vit d is so low?

Your best bet would be to take vit. D3 not D2.
When I first found out my D levels were low, I was prescribe D2 for many months and it did nothing for my vitamin D levels.
I would go to vit. World and buy Vit. D3 5000iu and take one every day. It may take a few months but your d levels will come back up. Once they are up you need to keep taking vit. D or your levels will go back down.
You say you like to run. So, that means you are outside a lot. You get as much vit. D you need naturally. Have you ever asked yourself why you would be deficient. It could be genetics or it could be that your body is fighting an illness. Vit. D is nutrient that helps our immune system. When your body is constantly fighting something your D levels can become low.
This is something you need to look out for.

Everyone's vitamin D levels are lower than normal during Winter months. Some can be lower than others. I have to take 4000mg. a day and it was 7000mg. a day before, so I'm getting better. I'm allergic to the sun. Prednisone helped my athritis pain so I was more active. You could add 25mg. of Magnesium to the Vitamin D3. Magnesium helps build new bone cells which makes your bones more dense. Most doctors don't suggest Magnesiumm but they should.

Sounds like you are fighting an infection.

I have had a low white blood count and low vit. D levels as well as swollen glands for years. My doctors told me a long time ago not to worry about it. I have been in a bad way for the past 8 years because of ignoring this.
I was diagnosed with lyme, babesia, mycoplasma and candida. My case was severe because I waited 10 years before I did anything about it. The longer your immune system struggles with this condition the more susceptible you are to other infections. You should be concerned about it especially if you have had this for 2 years.

You need to add supplements to your diet  as well as eat a very clean diet to help your body get through this. Doing these things will help boost your immune system. Look online as to what kind of supplements help boost your immune system. Clean diet means try to eliminate sugar and junky foods. No foods with preservatives. Try to eat a lot of fiberus foods like veggies, quinoa and brown rice. You have to help your glands to detox. Stay away from sugar drinks including gator-aid. Try drinking combucha, no sugar coconut water - this is a great hydrator after a workout and lots of filtered water.
It would also help your immune system to start on a probiotic. 80% of your immune system comes from the health of your gut.
Regarding the vit. D and how long it takes to build in your body. It all depends on how much they are giving you. If you take 5000iu daily it will take about 2-3 months. I would not stop taking the vit. D until you get your body back to normal.
