Is this the normal and ok treatment for low vit d?

I am 34 year old woman and I have been fighting low vit D for the last couple of years.  A year ago, it was really low and I was put on 50,000 IU pill once a week for 6 months.  I was retest and it was better but still not normal (up to 18.8).  I was told to take 2,000 IU every day and test again in 6 months.  I was just test and my vit d is now 15.0 so my doc is putting me back on 50,000 IU once a week for 6 months.  That seems really high to me.  Is that ok?  Thank you so much!

Something is causing low vitamin D levels. In my case a few reasons, inflammation, magnesium deficiency, hypothyroidism. I took high doses of vitamin D and this worsened my magnesium deficiency! Be careful taking high doses.
