Medications query

Hi, I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and I take 125mcg of Levothyroxine a day. My doctor put me on iron tablets and she wants me to take them 3 times a day. The following has been advised of me:

To take 1 iron tablet 3 times a day

To leave 2 hours away from the thyroid medication. I have looked on other sites and have found that patients need to leave 4 hours away from the thyroid medication, ideally. So I have doubts regarding when I need to take the iron and at the same time keep it away from the thyroid medication and calcium containing products like milk.

Also, do I need supplements for these? The doctor says these levels are normal:

Vitamin D - 59 (> 75)

Vitamin B12 - 362 (180-900)

Folate - 4.9 (4.6-18.7)

Magnesium - 0.89 (0.70-1.00)

Ferritin which I know needs to be addressed is 21 (30-400) Doctor says it's a bit low but why am I being told that it's extremely low by fellow thyroid patients at my support group?

Is being in range not enough?

Thyroid function test recently done shows my TSH is 0.36 (0.2-4.2) my Free T4 is 25.1 (12-22) and my Free T3 is 6.9 (3.1-6.8)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks for your help.

As long as the B complex is in liquid form and not pill form I will have no problems taking it because I have swallowing difficulty.

Your numbers are OK, but it would not hurt to supplement with a good, multi-mineral (without iron), extra Vitamin D, and a good B complex.

As to the iron, that can be hard to regulate, be careful and start with very small doses and do take away from the thyroid medication.
