Good morning... It's just about daylight and it looks like it's going to be a bright sunny Father's Day, here. I hope everyone else has a nice day to carry out all your Father's Day plans.
There hasn't been a whole lot going on here this past week, but there have been more issues with the family up north. I called Friday night to check on my SIL that recently had the mastectomy only to find that they were in the ER, at that moment and she's, currently, in the hospital. Apparently, her blood pressure went sky high and started doing weird things. Once in the ER, they couldn't bring it down and/or stabilize it so they admitted her. She's already had one heart attack and she has only one working kidney, along with just having the mastectomy. Things like that are always a concern, but in cases like this, even more so.
It turns out that the brother diagnosed with congestive heart failure a few weeks ago, probably doesn't have that - he has COPD instead. That's not a real big surprise, as he was quite a heavy smoker for a lot of years, though he quit almost 30 yrs ago. I guess that can come back to bite us in the butt any time.
I got the results of my Holter monitor test on my heart... there are some rhythm abnormalities, but the abnormalities have their own rhythm (meaning it's not erratic or anything), so there's really nothing they can/should do, at this point. I also have very low heart rate (bradycardia), but it's not low enough yet to try to resolve. I've had leaky valves/regurgitation for years and that's all stable so we leave everything alone.
So that leaves me to carry on with my weight loss efforts, which I haven't done great at, this week as I'm the same as last week, but at least I didn't gain. Right now, I'm going to consider that a win. I'm not sure what's going on, but for some reason, I've been unable to drop the weight I put on when we were up north, or maybe it was fluid weight from when I wasn't taking my fluid pills... I'm not sure what caused it, but I sure can't drop it.
I still haven't gone back to walking every day, which is part of the trouble, so I do need to get back to that. I did spend a couple hours mowing lawn yesterday and sure thought that might have been good for a few ounces, but - nope - at least not first thing this morning. I, sometimes, down later in the day, so we'll see.
Anyway - here we are with a new week beginning and a chance to try again. So what about you? I hope you've been able to meet your goals.
~~Wishing everyone a wonderful, successful week~~
