A healthy life

Dear MedHelp Community,

What is the best way to stay healthy if, on my budget, fruits and veggies are hard to come by. I am hungry nearly all the time but the good things to eat cost a lot and don't feel very satisfying once eaten (aka still hungry). i don't have a tape worm or anything, just eat barely no fruit and veggies and need some help how to keep my body healthy. Since our financial difficulties have started i have observed that i am more prone to picking up little illnesses here and there.
Also what is an important food out there that it is most healthy to avoid?

Thanks!

It can also pay to shop around.  Some fruit and vege places sell produce at substantially lower prices than supermarkets.

Canned produce can also work well.

Growing your own vegetables, etc can also save you money.

Stress, etc can make you more vulnerable to illness.

The high energy/ low nutrient foods are best avoided.  Junk food and fast foods.

Financial pressure can be stressful but if you prioritise it can be managed better.  Budgets can also help identify 'money leaks' or money wasteages.

You might check out the frozen veggies section of the supermarket - it's a great way to get your vegetables and fiber without spending a lot of money.

I would try to avoid highly processed foods and fried foods.  Some recent research studies have shown that if you are careful, you can actually eat healthy without spending extra money - but it does take some time and patience when shopping to find the best choices for you.

Take care!
