Welcome. Wonko's right - most of us are looking to go the other way, but I, too, can appreciate your problem. I'm not familiar with tardive akathesia either. Wonko pretty much said it all. Maybe you will need to continue with the Glucerna in addition to regular food.
Good luck with that - maybe someone else on the forum will have more information for you.
Hi, you're correct that the folks here are looking to go the other way, but I can appreciate your dilemma: Eating dessrt all day is not the answer. I'm assuming Clucerna is a variety of nutrition shake, like Ensure? And having those every day instead of "real" food can also be a drag.
Nuts and nut butter, and avacado, are calorie dense. Brightly colored fruits and vegatables have lots of nutrition. 1 gram of fat has about 9 calories, while 1 gram of carb. or protein has about 4 calories. Protein usually helps satisfy hunger, while carbs can trigger the appetite. Complex and whole grain carbs are harder to digest, so some of the energy they conain is lost on breaking them down in the body.
I'm not sure you'll be able to escape the need to supplement with shakes and the like. I'm unfamiliar with tardive dyskinesia, I hope your doctors can work with you to keep your weight where it needs to be.
