Sundary Weigh In March 20, 2022

Good morning and happy Spring to everyone.  I hope you're all looking forward to a wonderful day, though I've read there may be some bad weather in some parts of the country.  I hope it's not "too" bad.

It's been pretty quiet here, but I've been busy.  I've had my neighbor from Oregon here for the past couple of weeks and we took advantage of lovely weather to do some things we both enjoy.  We walked nearly every morning (except when raining), sometimes longer than others, but it felt good to be out and about with someone to chat with, etc. Unfortunately, we took them back to the airport yesterday for their return to Oregon.

Along with walking and doing things with my neighbor, I spent several days working in my shop.  I've been offered a chance to sell some of my handmade ink pens, so I've got a few ready to go.  I wanted to have them delivered and set up by now, but that didn't happen and now, it won't for, at least another week.

My eyelid surgery is coming up on Tuesday and I'll be out of commission for at least a week.  For the first week, I'm not to do any housework, bending at the waist, lifting, etc.so that means no shop or lawn work.  Husband is really good about cooking and laundry, but he's not good about cleaning, doing floors, etc.  I'll get most things done today and tomorrow, and hope we can get by until I can do it again.  I'm looking forward to having the surgery done, as my eyelids are really starting to bother me and I'm finally realizing how much they're affecting my vision.  I also believe the heaviness is contributing to my constant tiredness.  I'm not looking forward to being laid up for a week or more, but I guess it goes with the territory!!

Anyway, my weight has been all over the scale this week... The last time I recorded weight, I'd been down by 3 pounds.  Over the week, I was up and down nearly every day.  I seem to have settled at about a 1 lb gain.  I'm trying to figure out how that happened with all the walking and other exercise I've gotten over the past couple of weeks.  I've also not been eating nearly as much.  Maybe my body will settle out pretty soon and start losing again.  I hope!!

So that's my story.  What's yours?  I hope your week went the way you planned (or better) and that you were able to meet your goal(s).

~~Wishing everyone a wonderful, successful week~~

**Stay safe and wash your hands**

Checking in. My weight this week was what it was last week, maybe .1 of a pound less. I spent all of today painting walls and stripping wallpaper, then had fish & chips. It will be interesting to see if I worked off that .1 of a pound or put on some with the salt in the fish!

The old owner of the house we're moving into left a washer and a dryer that we don't need. So we sent it to Habitat for Humanity today. They have a store where they sell all kinds of house-related stuff, and the proceeds go to fund their work. I was so glad to see the washer and dryer go, and also happy that they weren't headed for the landfill. They were only 8 years old and worked fine, though the washer will need either a new bearing or new belt soon, it's making a noise like a jet taking off on the spin cycle. I also sent with them a box full of nice-looking light fixtures. They are modern, aren't broken, ust not in our taste.  It would have been a colossal waste to throw those in a dumpster.

Weather here is mild, sometimes sunny and sometimes moist, not like the storms they're getting in the southeast. Daffodils are out in large numbers, and there is a dazzling camellia at the end of our driveway that must have a thousand blooms and buds. I'd actually like the spot where the camellia is to hold some lavender instead, but it would be a crime to dig up such a thriving bush. Too bad Habitat for Humanity wouldn't take plants! lol

My son is on spring break, doing a lot of catch-up homework. He says he plans to take two or three days to get all the late stuff done, and then will need two more days to do things that are upcoming. (Some vacation!) But thank heavens he has a week off to catch it all up. He's been taking short breaks to do things that are more fun, but keeps plugging at the mountain of back homework. I'm not sure he'll have much of a vacation, though Sunday his aunt is driving him to the coast for a Glen Miller concert.

Hope everyone has a great week!
