Sunday Weigh-in May 1, 2022

Good morning and Happy May Day!!  I hope everyone is doing well this morning.  It's a beautiful day here - bright and sunny - destined to get hot, but this is Florida.

I've had another pretty quiet week with nothing earth-shattering going on.  I've spent most of the week practicing calligraphy and making pens - both things I enjoy.  I, actually, sold some of the pens, so I have money to buy materials to make more!!  :-)  The best part is that some of the new ones I'll make are already spoken for.

Other than that, I've spent time repotting plants and other yard/house stuff that often gets neglected in favor of more interesting pursuits.

I've been pretty careful about my diet and though my weight has "bounced" a bit during the week, depending on fluid retention, food, etc, I'm managing to maintain the 7 pound loss over the past month.  I'm hoping I'll be able to drop some more over the coming month - I'm not really looking for another 7 pounds, but that would sure be nice.  I would guess that if I start getting more exercise (other than just working around the house/yard), I might be able to drop another 7 lbs, but we'll see how that goes.  For now, I'm happy with it.

So how has your week been?  I hope you've been able to reach your goals and look forward to hearing about about your week.

~~Wishing you a wonderful, successful week~~

I've moved the calendar that I use to note my weight so am not sure, but I think my weight is exactly the same this week as last week. This is not bad, since I lost a pound or more last week, as well as having gotten lower and kept it lower in the last few weeks. (In other words, it isn't creeping back on.) But going down another pound would be just fine, too.

We've been sorting our house in preparation for moving. My husband carries in black heavyweight contractor trash bags and boxes, empty, and carries them out full. The bags are for taking things to the Goodwill and the boxes will get packed and left in the rooms for the movers to carry to the new house. It's tiring work. As he packed out endless outgrown toys and hobbies, my son kept saying in distress, "Why do I have so much stuff I don't use?" I think at least three boxes in the garage and two in my son's closet were never unpacked from three years ago when we moved in. I hope to find one or two things we've been looking for ever since. It's all really annoying!

I'm not sure if we'll have absolutely all the sorting done by the time the movers come, but anything not finished by the move day can go out by car in the following week, as long as the movers can get to the furniture to carry it away. The week after the move is loosely scheduled, for the cleaners, pressure-washers, window washers, garden clean-up, carpet guy, stager and photographer, so if we're in there packing a box or two it isn't going to hurt anything as long as we keep out of the way of the photographer. I woke up this morning (after dreaming about moving) with a big headache. Can't even get away from moving in my dreams.

Anyway, though meals have been pretty irregular and I went to bed hungry last night, all this activity hasn't translated into losing weight this week., though it was enough to keep it off from prior losses. It's probably going to be scrambled like this for another week, since we don't have a functional kitchen at the new house and won't be sitting down to a home-cooked meal any time soon. Luckily, there are good restaurants nearby.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Oh it sounds like you’re have a lovely time… not!!  :-)

Isn’t it amazing how much “stuff” we can accumulate in a short period?  Your comment about things your son never unpacked from your move 3 yrs ago reminds me when we moved here.  We had things in a storage unit for a couple of months until we got husband’s shop built, then we moved a few things into the shop that we didn’t storage in the house for.   About 10 yrs later, we were moving some things around in husband’s shop and came across some boxes of glassware that were still stored there.  I figured if I hadn’t needed the stuff in 10 yrs, I’d be fine without it permanently,  I transferred the stuff to fresh boxes and hauled it off for donation.

I’ve got tons of stuff to get rid of now.  I’d like to have a yard sale, but I have no place to store the things I’m getting rid of until I get it ready for a sale.  I’m actually considering renting a POD to put it in, just to get it out of the house.

You’re doing great with your weight.  Staying the same isn’t necessarily what we want, but I’ll take it over a gain any day.  It’s possible that your irregular meals are causing you to eat too little and your body is holding onto weight.  Just a thought.

Have a good week.
