Sunday Weigh in, April 11, 2021

Good afternoon.  I'm running late again today.  We've been having some pretty nasty weather (heavy rain/wind), so it's not a very nice day.   I keep hoping it's going to be over soon and the sun will come out, but it looks like the rain is going to hang in here for a while.

It's been a pretty quiet week - I didn't even have any doctor's appointments, etc, though I did go for my semi-annual kidney x-ray on Tuesday in preparation for my urology appointment in a couple of weeks.

I've been practicing my calligraphy and preparing for a couple of large classes that are coming up at the end of the month and during the summer (that's translated to: ordering supplies aka spending money...lol).  I've also been busy trying to find cabinets to go in the room I've taken over as my "work room" for doing calligraphy and whatever painting that goes along with it.  I finally broke down and bought a new cabinet and we got it hung up late Friday afternoon.  We went to an estate sale on Saturday and I found a little curio cabinet that will work perfectly, as well, so I got it, too.  It's in my shop, sanded and prepared for priming/painting.  That should take care of my cabinet needs to a while.  Who'd have thought one could collect SO many things for calligraphy?  After all, it seems to be "just writing", but it's not that simple.  :-)

I've still been walking every morning and have done a few things outside since the weather warmed up.  My neighbor will be leaving on Tuesday to go back to Oregon for the summer, so I won't be walking every morning.  When I'm on my own, I typically, walk in the evening.  That means I won't be getting up so early in the mornings and, hopefully, will get better sleep.

I've also been trying to cut back on the amount I'm eating.  Walking, eating less and the increase in replacement thyroid hormones I got, have allowed me to drop a pound this past week.  It's not a lot, but at least, is going the right direction.  I'm hoping to be able to continue dropping a pound a week, but we'll see how it goes.

So - how about you?  I hope you've been able to meet whatever goal(s) you set for yourself and look forward to hearing about it.

~~Wishing everyone a wonderful, successful week~~

Hi. I just registered and saw this post. I did a workout today and am getting ready for the end of the work week. I'm starting a new workout, more challenging, so I'm trying to be mindful. Thanks for your words!

Welcome to our weigh in.  Work outs are always good and they should be a bit challenging in order to really do some good.

Do you watch your food intake as well as the workout?

Hopefully, we'll see you next week again.

Barb, don't say it's "not that much," dropping a pound is going the right direction. :-) ) My weight went down 1.4 lbs. this week and am very pleased! Too many weeks lately I've had no change or been up slightly. I cut back on food just a little this past week, and saw the result. The weight isn't as important to me as the direction -- it means it's not hopeless, I really am not stuck.

Weather here has been lovely. We'll have a few days of rain and then a stretch of sunny days -- it's typical Oregon spring weather. Thanks to getting vaccinated, soon I'll be able to go to the dentist and the hairdresser. (I haven't heard of anyone getting Covid from a hairdresser, but still did drag my feet on going, since there was no real need. Now that we're going to be having a more opened-up society again, it's time to do something about my hair!) Other appointments are lined up, too -- an oil change, taking the dog to be goomed, an orthodontist appointment -- and we need to buy a few school things for our son, who goes back in person after more than a year of online learning, on April 26 if there isn't a fourth wave. I'm really glad the vaccines came before reopening the schools. Can't wait for them to be available to the 12-15 year old age group.

We've got a Zoom call with my mom today, all my sisters (from all over the US) will be there. Should be fun! Now I've just got to figure out what to do with my hair.

Have a great week!
