Abnormal Pap 5 years after hysterectomy???

Doctors nurse just called today and said that my pap came back abnormal. They did not give me any info except that it is a type of yeast infection and that I needed to take probiotics daily now. I asked what it meant and they just said to take the probiotics. Can someone help me understand? I thought yeast infections were short term and went away with treatment, so why the daily probiotics? Are there certain probiotics that I have to get? Is this pre cancerous? Thanks for your help. I'm very confused and getting no answer from the doctors office staff...

The nurse should have explained. I hate when they just call and are abrupt. I ask distinct questions for the information. Probiotics is the good bacteria that protect our bodies. Like the yeast they accumulate in our bodies. You can get these by eating yogert or in a pill form. If this is present, I would stay away from breads and products with yeast in them. Sugar helps yeast grow.  I really don't think you have to worry about cancer, with this. I also would want a consult with my Dr. to make sure all my questions are answered.  If you are not satisfied I would get a second opinion.
