Vaginal Sores: not an STD

Hi,
A couple of days ago the area directly around my vaginal opening started burning really bad, accompanied by some itching as well. As first I thought it was probably a yeast infection, but I haven't experienced any abnormal discharge and it didn't burn to pee. Today I looked in a mirror and saw white sores all around my vaginal opening and slightly on my labia minora. I am 19 years old, and I  a virgin. (Meaning no sexual contact whatsoever. Including oral. The only thing I've done is kiss.) I should probably go to the doctor soon, but I'm nervous. Can anybody help?

Makes no difference what colour pants you wear.  Cotton is best because it helps your skin breathe.

You can purchase antifungal creams and oral capsules from the pharmacy without a prescription.  But the doctor can examine you, take a swab if necessary to send to the laboratory for analysis and will prescribe the correct medication for you.

It is highly likely to be a fungal infection - you an get these anywhere on the body and also in the mouth.

When you use the toilet, wipe from front to back.
Wash morning and before going to bed.  Eat a healthy and well balanced diet and cut out or cut down on all sugar, processed and junk foods and that includes fizzy drinks, squashes and fruit juices.

Eating more natural yogurt can help.

It could be a fungal, viral, bacterial, or yeast infection. They don't always present all the symptoms. For health reasons, do not use perfumed soaps, use sensitive body wash or vaginal washes. It could be a pH imbalance, so try using pH washes or wipes. Also, wear white or light colored cotton panties. Bacteria and yeast thrive in dark, moist environments, and light colored cotton wicks moisture away from the skin. Please go to your doctor and find out what is wrong. If you are prescribed antibiotics, take a probiotic so that you do not grow a yeast infection on top of whatever the issue is.

You don't always gets a discharge with a fungal infection.

Do not use normal soap. Use non perfumed soap, soap the same pH level as our skin, baby washes should be fine.
Do not wear manmade fabric pants.  Wear cotton ones.  These will help allow your skin to breathe.  Manmade fabrics will make you sweat more, encouraging yeast growth.

Do bear in mind that antibiotics can also encourage yeast overgrowth and also if your diet comprises of too much sweet things.

As a home remedy you can apply natural set yogurt to your cleaned and gently dried area.    Only for the external parts.

Make an urgent appointment to see your doctor who will prescribe the correct medication/s for you.
