Am I having symptoms of gynecological cancer?

For the past 8 or 9 months I have noticed I am feeling more tired then usual, after work I come home and nap mabe 3 hrs and wake up and Im still extremely tired.  Im getting 8 hrs of sleep at night.  I find that I dont have the energy I once had to just get up and go places, I never feel like doing anything... About 3 yrs ago after I had my youngest, I lost weight after his birth, since then I have gained it back mostly in my abdomen,  my stomach sticks out and makes the rest of me look unproportioned, Im the only one in my family like this.  I look 9 months pregnant when I let my stomach hang out. when I suck it in I look about 5 or 6 months pregnant.  Im pretty normal other than that, I haent had a period in 3 months, I have extremely painful cramps in my lower abdomen and my lower back, I also have hip and butt pains.  And the last time I had a period the two periods before that one I was bleeding in between cycles.

Now, I have gone to my dr and he sent me for an ultrasound, they found fluid in my pelvis, he sent me for blood work after that and a urinalysis, my urine showed a high White Blood Cell Count... so he put me on z pack for infection just in case.. he then sent me out for a cat scan and another blood test and I havent gotten those results yet but he did tell me I h ad a uti, which with all my symptoms?? I mean c'mon?  that isnt all, it cant be, I have had a uti before and it never felt like this and I didnt have irregular periods because of it.  Anyhow, I was woundering what could be causing my symptoms... does any one have any ideas? and is it wise that I even see my family dr for this problem? should I start looking for a GYN to take car4e of this for me? any advic would be greatly appreciated.. thanks so much!

Well, I had my visit today and I was told a couple of things, for one I am not getting better im getting progressively worse,  the pain is in my Pelvis, my left hip,my rectal area and perinial area as well, my lower back and tail bone, along with my upper left thigh.    It hurts to walk alot, sit for any amount of time, have a bm, urine and laydown even.  I get shooting pains when I sit down that travel thru my rectal and hip area straight up my pelvis, when I stand up I feel pelvic pressure like my "insides are going to fall out"  I am also feeling what seems to be contractions... btw pregnancy is not the case.  I am also very fatigued, and have had no period for more than 3 months now.  I have been for blood and urine tests ultrasounds and catscans, today I had an exray of my hip and left pelvis/hip area amd more blood work... this is the 3rd cbc he has ordered in the past two weeks.....  today at my visit he told me that the pelvic fluid and the cyst he found in the first ultra sound are gone now, but he is concerne that my symptoms are getting worse instead of better so, he said that the cat scan did show... three swollen lymph nodes in my left pelvic region... he is unable how ever to see signs of an infection other than the uti that I had last week which he said is now gone..  So I am concerned, my wbc count was high 2 weeks ago in my urine, but he said that my cbc said my count is fine now and I am woundering what all this could mean... 3 swollen lymphnodes in the pelvis on my left side with extreme pain that makes me nearly scream when I sit on my left side or middle at that... can any one help? I now this is a lot of info but there has to be a reason for my symptons I having all of them at the same time it seems...

Let us know how your appt. goes today with your family doctor. You should ask him for a referral to a good gyn. I am sure he would think you should see one. Try not to get too worried that he is sending you for tests. That is actually a good sign. There are many of us on here that would have liked a good, concerned doctor like that.  For your gyn appt., write down all your symptoms, when they started, and get copies of all tests and blood work to take with you. Unfortunately, there can be all kinds of reasons for the symptoms you are having and most of them are treatable and not cancer. Keep in touch.

Tnahk you all so much,I have another appointment with my family dr monday.  what frightens me is once he sends me for one test, he calls the next day and says hey, we need u to go have this done because we found this or were concerned about that... so it's almost as if he knows or thinks something and isnt telling me?  Im sure thats not the case but I have a feeling he has his concerns or he wouldnt waste his time sending me to get the testing.  I am going to call monday and schedual an appointment with a Gyn.. I am worried I wont know what to ask or tell him, I want to make the most of this visit with the Gyn when I get one I dont want to have to keep going back, its like a run-a-round you know?  but thanks for the replies, I guess your first thought is always the best I mean I should have been seeing one already, but I am just glad my new family dr is listening to me, I have been having pain and irregular periods for the last few years but not like this and no dr has even thought twice when I bring it up... I really thank god for him taking his time and listening... and I have read some of your posts prior to this and I really applaud all of you for your strength and longsuffering of what your going thru and the fact that you take time out to help others is, well.... amazing!  Good luck to all of you!

My error, I didn't realize that your family doctor was the one sending you for all the tests. Sorry.
The other ladies who wrote replies to you, gave you excellent suggestions.
Good luck,

Jane

I would definitely see my gyn and get a good check-up.  Set up the appointment now so when  you have the CT results, you are ready to roll.  Good Luck and keep us posted.

I am somewhat confused, but I think you went to your primary doctor for all of this and are wondering should you see a gyn? I think most definitely with your symptoms and the missed periods, etc. that you should see a gyn. You need to list all your symptoms, take your ultrasound, CT and blood test results (when you get them) with you so that doctor can take a look at them. I would try not to be too worried about having cancer at this point, but it is always wise to take charge of your medical care. Please let us know how your CT and blood tests come out and if you make that appt. Good luck!

Hi, Why don't you make an appointment with your family doctor for a complete physical, I would think that's the way to start. He'll examine you and do the necessary blood work and tests. If he feels it's necessary, he'd refer you to what ever specialist he feels you should see.
Good luck, and keep in touch.
