Bartholin Abcess

I'm currently on antibiotics for a VERY painful Bartholin Abcess. I was told to go through the course of it and take plenty of sitz baths to help.
I've read about plenty of people having theirs burst and what not. Where exactly does it burst? Where is the opening....I do not see where anything would come out.
I'm hoping to god it heals on it's own. Lancing it or draining it sounds like torture. This is already torture enough.
